General RV Center of Ocala

Project Overview
McNeal Engineering partnered with General RV Center to transform a former pasture and horse barn into a fully operational RV dealership in Ocala, Florida. Beginning in April 2017, the project required comprehensive design, permitting, and coordination to bring the client’s vision to life.
A key priority was maximizing visibility from I-75. This presented challenges, including mature trees within the right-of-way and on adjacent property. McNeal Engineering successfully navigated these constraints by securing approval to thin trees and facilitating the acquisition of an additional parcel to improve sight lines.
The site also contained sinkholes, requiring careful coordination of remediation efforts to ensure long-term stability. Completed inMay 2019, the project included offsite roadway and utility improvements, resulting in a high-performing, strategically positioned dealership that enhances accessibility, visibility, and long-term value.
Key Obstacles
• Mature trees in I-75 right-of-way and parcel tothe north limiting visibility.
• Land contained sinkholes where MEI coordinatedremediation.
Key Highlights and Wins
• Was permitted to thin trees in right-of-way.
• Purchased parcel to the north to increase visibility.
